SUMMARY:Integrated Transport and the Future of Smart Ticketing Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Smart ticketing – and the roll out of multi-modal\, integrated systems – has been identified as a key priority by the Department for Transport. Whether through the Integrated National Transport Strategy (INTS)\, the delivery of Projects Coral and Oval (in the Midlands and South of England)\, or new bus and rail legislation to give Combined Authorities more control of their bus systems and to set up GBR\, it is clear the policy and commercial landscapes around smart ticketing are rapidly changing. \nWhat does that mean for the smart ticketing market? How can the industry shift to a new environment requiring greater collaboration between suppliers\, and with combined authorities? And how do we ensure we are delivering technology that improves the passenger experience\, supports transport authorities in protecting their revenue and creates more seamless journeys across modes? \nThis roundtable\, at ITS UK’s headquarters in London\, will look at exactly these issues\, focusing on the opportunities and barriers to the roll out of smart ticketing: \n\nThe What? (What the changing landscape means for the sector): The impact of bus franchising\, creation of Great British Railways and devolution to combined authorities\nThe Why? (Why are we doing this): Integration between modes\, regions and schemes\, improving the passenger experience\, revenue protection\, increasing uptake for public transport.\nThe How? (How can the sector deliver smart ticketing): The shifting commercial environment as we move from single to modular supply chains and from closed to open loop systems\, greater collaboration between suppliers.\n\nThis event will take place on Monday 3 November from 10am to 1pm\, in London. Although in-person attendance is prefered\, an option to join online will be available. \nWith thanks to our sponsors: \n \n\nRegistration\nRegistration is now open\, and we are accepting one representative per member on a first come\, first served basis.
