SUMMARY:Parliamentary Dinner on Rural Mobility
DESCRIPTION:On 21 January\, ITS UK will host a Dinner in Parliament exploring how transport technology can support rural mobility\, particularly in the area of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT). \nHosted by Transport Committee member Alex Mayer MP\, the dinner will explore: \n\nHow the transport technology industry addresses better rural mobility;\nThe role of Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services\, with examples from across the country of how DRT is improving rural connectivity;\nThe importance of integrating transport services more effectively;\nThe role of the upcoming Integrated Transport Strategy; and\nThe role of regulation\, including removing VAT on DRT services using smaller vehicles.\n\nThe session will bring together policymakers\, including MPs and Peers from across Parliament\, alongside local authorities\, DRT providers and industry leaders. \nThe Dinner comes following the announcement of the  Transport Select Committee inquiry into buses\, which includes specific questions around DRT\, smart ticketing and bus innovations. \nThis roundtable is sponsored by Via Transportation. \n \n  \n  \n  \nIf you would like to attend\, please email us directly at contact@its-uk.org. SUMMARY:Workshop on the Integrated National Transport Strategy
DESCRIPTION:In November\, the Government launched its plan to develop an Integrated National Transport Strategy (INTS)\, which will set the long-term vision for how transport should be designed and delivered in this country. Delivering an effective\, efficient and integrated transport system\, that meets local\, regional and national needs will play a vital role in delivering the missions of this government. \nA Call for Ideas is currently live and will remain open until 11:59pm on 20 February 2025\, offering an opportunity for organisations and individuals to have their say on what should be considered as part of the development of the INTS.
