SUMMARY:Freight Forum
DESCRIPTION:Technology and the route to freight decarbonisation \nJoin ITS UK’s Freight Forum on 22 April as we explore how developments in technology can support the decarbonisation of the sector. \nTransport accounts for 28% of the UK’s total domestic emissions. Of these\, road vehicles were the primary source\, with heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) contributing 17% and light vans 16% of all transport emissions. \nTechnology has a major role to play in supporting the decarbonisation of the freight sector\, whether through greater efficiency of operations\, new fuels or reducing the number of journeys required. \nThe Freight Forum will explore these issues at their next meeting. They will be visiting Welch’s Transport in Duxford\, Cambridge\, with the meeting involving a depot tour and presentations from alternative fuel infrastructure providers\, fleet decarbonisation consultants\, freight media and the FORS scheme. \nJoin us for what is set to be a fascinating day exploring the future of freight! \nRegister here\n  \n\n\nAgenda\n11.00am | Arrivals and networking \n11.30am | Site tour \n12pm | Lunch \n1pm | Welcome from Forum Chair Matt Lott \n1.15pm | Beyond the Electric Fleet Building a Sustainable Transport Ecosystem Through Energy Innovation\nChris Welch\, Managing Director\, Welch’s Transport \n1.30pm |  What are the policies and strategies that can help with HGV decarbonisation\nJames Nankivell\, Associate Director – Freight and Fleet Project Manager\, WSP \n1.45pm | Helping fleet operators along the road to net zero\nGlen Davies\, Technical Director\, FORS – Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme \n2pm | Launching a national network of clean\, multi-energy hubs in the UK\nKaisa Chodurek\, Director of Business Development\, AEGIS \n2.15pm | Q&A with Panel \n2.30pm | Close
