SUMMARY:NAVIGATES Project Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Shape the future of autonomous mobility at the NAVIGATES Project Workshop.\nCenex\, in collaboration with Angoka and ITS UK\, is looking to invite industry representatives to a workshop as part of Project NAVIGATES (Networked Autonomous Vehicle Integration and Governance with Advanced Technology Security). \nFor No User in Charge (NUiC) operation\, the UK Automated Vehicles Act 2024 requires that\, in addition to the Authorised Self Driving Entity (ASDE) responsible for the vehicle’s driving behaviour and compliance\, there be a licensed NUiC operator responsible for the detection of\, and response to\, problems arising during NUiC operation. \nProject NAVIGATES is a collaborative study to examine the use cases\, feasibility and benefits of regional RSOCC (Remote Service Operator Control Centres) for the centralised management and co-ordination of autonomous vehicle activities. \nSimilar to air traffic control centres\, regional centres would oversee fleets of driverless vehicles operating with NUiC\, assisting the provision of coordinated services and offering economies of scale aiding the business case for the roll of out Connected Automated Mobility.  Project NAVIGATES is the first dedicated study in the UK to explore this model in detail. \nThe Workshop\nThis workshop will look to gather industry expertise and insights to define the operational and technical requirements\, develop a robust business case\, and outline the roadmap for centres in the UK. \nITS UK members are invited to attend\, with 25 spaces available for the workshop\, which will take place at CENEX Expo on Tuesday 3 September. Places are offered on a first come\, first served basis. \nThis event is run by CENEX and ANGOKA\, in partnership with ITS UK. \n  \nRegister here
