Leanne Mumby

National Sales Manager, Yunex Traffic

I am currently the National Sales Manager at Yunex Traffic, where I am responsible for new business, and account management of Local Authority transport contracts across the UK. I am responsible for the Solution & Systems portfolio within Yunex Traffic which encompasses UTC, UTMC, Adaptive Control and other complex projects within this space. With past experience in traffic management sales, plus highways and civil engineering recruitment, I bring a commercially strong yet people centered approach within a traditionally male dominated industry.

At Yunex Traffic, I am passionate about building an inclusive, resilient, and supportive place to work. Alongside my day-to-day responsibilities, I proudly act as Wellbeing Lead and am an active member of WAAY (Women and Allies at Yunex). In these roles, I advocate for women’s safety, healthy boundaries, and open conversations about physical and mental health at work. I believe wellbeing is fundamental to any industry, and I am working to embed this mindset across teams and in leadership conversations.

My career in Transport began in civil engineering recruitment, where my clients were both major and minor contractors across the highways sector. This early experience gave me a strong understanding of the operational challenges facing infrastructure delivery, as well as insight into the workforce pressures that still continue to affect our industry today. It also brought awareness of how few women were within the industry, the barriers faced by women entering and progressing within engineering and construction environments.

I later moved into traffic management sales, gaining extensive experience in a sector historically dominated by men. Navigating these spaces strengthened my confidence, resilience, and ambition to advocate for greater gender representation and support within the industry. I have learned how to influence whilst being the only woman in the room, and deliver results while staying true to my values, challenging outdated norms when necessary and supporting others to find their voice.

Throughout my career, I have been subject to inappropriate behaviour in the workplace from men within our industry, and as such I am passionate about finding ways for this to be stamped out. I am keen to improve visibility, ensuring women in ITS can see role models within senior positions they can take inspiration from.

Being part of Women in ITS feels like a natural extension of the work I am already doing. I am motivated to contribute my lived experience, sector knowledge, and personal perspective to support the development, retention, and progression of women across ITS UK.
