  • Yunex Traffic UK signs lease for a new state-of-the-art facility at Bournemouth Airport, strengthening its long-term commitment to UK manufacturing.
  • The move builds on six decades of engineering heritage in Poole, where the company has operated since 1966.
  • The modern, unified site will bring expanded manufacturing capability, bring teams together and create a future-ready environment for innovation and customer centricity.

Yunex Traffic UK has signed a lease for up to 20 years for a new, purpose-built facility, marking a significant investment in the future of its UK operations and long-term manufacturing capability.

Located at 1 Viscount Road, Aviation Business Park, the contemporary site will bring office teams, engineering specialists and manufacturing operations together under one roof for the first time. As a global organisation with established manufacturing capabilities exporting to 55+ countries, this relocation further strengthens our international delivery capability. Designed to enhance collaboration, increase efficiency and support future growth, the facility will provide the space, infrastructure and technical capability required to meet rising demand for intelligent traffic management and mobility solutions.

The move represents the next step in the company’s long-standing commitment to the region. Yunex Traffic has been part of the Poole community since 1966, developing advanced engineering expertise and building innovative mobility solutions for cities, highway authorities and mobility providers. Their teams have trained generations of apprentices and supported major national transport programmes, shaping the way traffic is managed. That legacy of technical excellence will continue at Bournemouth Airport, where teams will operate from a more sustainable, modern environment designed to meet evolving customer and industry needs.

The relocation also strengthens the company’s economic contribution to the South Coast.  With almost 500 colleagues set to move to the new location, the site will create skilled jobs, safeguard specialist roles and provide expanded capacity to support future opportunities in engineering, digital innovation, manufacturing and product development. With enhanced production capability and improved logistics, Yunex Traffic UK will be even better positioned to deliver large-scale programmes for towns and cities nationwide and globally – helping keep people and goods moving safely, efficiently and more sustainably.

The Bournemouth Airport facility will serve as a hub for the region’s growing technology cluster fostering collaboration with regional and national partners, accelerating product development and supporting the UK’s leadership in intelligent transport systems.

Wilke Reints, Managing Director Yunex Traffic UK, said: “Our new home at Bournemouth Airport reflects a long-term investment to our future – it is a commitment not just to the next few years, but up to the next two decades. We are creating a place where our people can imagine, engineer and build solutions that shape how the world moves. This is a promise, for up to 20 years, to our teams, our communities, and our customers – that we will continue to push boundaries, innovate with purpose and lead the way in intelligent mobility.”

Ali Mew, Head of Property, Eastleigh Borough Council said: “The letting of 1 Viscount Road to Yunex Limited is the latest chapter in Eastleigh Borough Council continuing to secure high-quality tenants into its diverse investment portfolio.  It is a testament to the quality of the asset that Yunex Traffic have made this commitment and investment.”

The relocation, which will take place throughout 2026, follows extensive consultation with employees, local partners, and transport authorities. The new facility will feature:

  • A modern manufacturing hall with expanded capacity featuring dedicated PCB manufacturing capability, advanced assembly stations and a global repair centre for electronic components – strengthening both production and lifecycle support for customers worldwide.
  • Integrated office space to strengthen collaboration, including a dedicated Research and Development area where teams will continue developing world-leading hardware and software solutions that help cities manage traffic more efficiently and more sustainably.
  • Improved logistics and distribution capabilities providing streamlined goods movement, better material flow and enhanced capacity supporting faster, more efficient delivery to customers both domestic and international.
  • Enhanced sustainability features, including the installation of solar panels to reduce energy consumption and support the company’s long-term environmental commitments.

With this relocation, Yunex Traffic UK reinforces its long-term commitment to leading the industry in innovation, customer service, and more sustainable mobility, both in the UK and across global markets.
