Marcus Mayers has a background in transport innovation including the delivery of the UK’s first ERTMS signalling scheme for Virgin Trains (2005) and the inventor of the world’s first LED signal (1990).  He is the on the Advisory board for Open Transport. Open Transport is an initiative to drive customer account data sharing across transport, enabling individuals and organisations to consolidate, validate, and analyse their journeys, costs, and carbon footprint in one place. By integrating transport, banking, and emissions data through open APIs, it empowers smarter, greener travel choices and supports innovation across sectors.

Marcus is also a visiting Research Fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University in the field of Intelligent Mobility.  His, intelligent mobility, media credits include Channel 4, BBC; TV, Radio, and world services, Financial Times, Telegraph, independent, New European.
