I have over 25 years’ experience as an engineer and consultant, with 9 years in the highways ITS sector. I have spent time working in the telecommunications industry (designing data centre solutions) and in the oil and gas industry (designing integrated process monitoring and security solutions). While in the highways industry I have led and delivered several innovation schemes involving wearable technology, renewables, IoT and video analytics. The issues addressed by my innovation projects include sustainability, road worker and user safety, asset security, suicide prevention and littering.

I have also led the consultancy and preliminary design for a variety of legacy ITS asset schemes, as well as leading solutions development for non-standard projects such as providing security to CNI sites and sensitive areas of the strategic road network.

I am a member of the IET have recently completed an application for chartership.
