Yunex Traffic has successfully completed the installation of its advanced video analytics solution Yutraffic awareAI in Coventry. Transforming how traffic is managed at complex traffic signal intersections, the solution uses advanced AI-trained machine learning to deliver detailed detection, classification, and data insight capabilities.

The Coventry site presented a unique set of challenges, with multiple residential driveways located within the interior of the intersection not being visible to the signal’s installed detection methods. Conventional solutions, such as induction loops, would not only have been costly and disruptive, but would also not have been able to adequately deal with cars from a nearby industrial estate which are frequently parked near the properties. 

Yutraffic awareAI provides a smart and efficient solution, with the system accurately detecting vehicles exiting the driveways and triggering an all-red signal phase, improving safety and minimising disruption for other road users on this busy route.

Yunex Traffic provided a complete end-to-end solution, including system design, supply, installation, maintenance, and ongoing support. With no on-going or recurring service fees or license costs, this innovative scheme delivers exceptional whole life value for Coventry City Council.
