Bradford Council partners with RoadTrace to harness connected vehicle data for safer, smarter highways
Bradford Council has entered into a landmark agreement with RoadTrace, the connected vehicle data division of Aisin, to deploy its proprietary enriched road safety intelligence and internationally recognised ITS white paper–approved KSI (Killed and Seriously Injured) prediction modelling across the highways service.
This development represents a major step forward for the West Yorkshire Vision Zero partnership, and Bradford’s Vision Zero Implementation Strategy, showing how local highways authorities are adopting advanced connected vehicle insights to strengthen both road safety and highways asset management and maintenance.
The agreement follows on from the successful collaboration with Calderdale Council, the first authority in the region to work with RoadTrace and an active member of the Road Safety Partnership. Bradford’s decision reflects a clear recognition that raw connected vehicle data alone is not sufficient. Local authorities require processed and enriched connected vehicle data intelligence to support decision-making across the full range of highways functions, including safety, planning, asset management and maintenance.
RoadTrace is the only provider able to deliver this level of enriched data, validated by Aisin’s global research and supported by its position as a £30 billion Tier One supplier to the international automotive industry. Its approach has also been independently validated through an internationally recognised ITS white paper available here
A Bradford Council spokesperson said: “RoadTrace provides enriched connected vehicle data and predictive insights that go far beyond raw datasets, giving every part of our highways service a common evidence base to make better decisions. With Aisin’s support and integration into our systems, Bradford is leading the way in data-driven safety, planning and asset management’.
