British Consul General champions UK innovation at ITS World Congress

Britain’s senior representative in six states in southeastern USA will be promoting the best of British innovation when she attends the UK & ERTICO ITS-Europe Pavilion at the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in Atlanta later this month.
Thousands of people are expected to attend the event in Atlanta, including Consul General Rachel Galloway who will visit the pavilion on Tuesday 26 August.
The visit is being organised by Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), as part of its promotion of the 2027 World Congress which will be held at Birmingham’s NEC.
A range of UK organisations are exhibiting on the joint Pavilion at the Congress. They are: AGD and its sister company MAV systems, Immense, Intelligent Instruments, Navtech Radar, Nicander and Zenzic.
Ms Galloway, who is based in Atlanta, will spend time talking to the Pavilion’s exhibitors and explaining what she and her team does in Atlanta and how it, and its fellow consuls across the US, can help UK companies build business there.
The British Consulate in Atlanta provides trade and investment services and practical support to help UK companies succeed in that part of the USA. The embassy has a specific Future Mobility team which is keen to help British technology companies do business in America.
The reception is part of a busy week for the UK delegation. While visitors are welcome to chat to companies on the stand at any time, there will be a specific opportunity on Monday afternoon called “Meet the UK Pavilion Exhibitors”.
There are also “Why you should exhibit in Birmingham” sessions on Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon.
The stand is shared with ERTICO – ITS Europe which will feature cutting-edge mobility solutions from its Partner HERE Technologies, ITS Sweden member Triplesign System AB, as well as ERTICO’s own Innovation Platform, Enhanced European Valet Parking (EVAP). Visitors can also meet the team on-site to explore more opportunities to attend the next European Congress edition, taking place in Istanbul 27 – 29 April 2026. A panel session between ERTICO and UK representatives will take place on Wednesday afternoon.
ERTICO will have its traditional partner tour on Monday and the hosting of its World Congress regional reception on the stand 1141, Wednesday at 5 pm, plus participation in a number of sessions and meetings, including one with international ITS Associations. ERTICO CEO Joost Vantomme will be speaking in the Opening Ceremony and Angelos Amditis, ERTICO’s Chairman, will speak in the third Plenary session.
