As the Department for Transport (DfT) moves ahead with one of the most significant regulatory shifts in decades, Causeway Technologies has unveiled an integrated digital traffic regulation order (D-TRO) solution to help local authorities meet upcoming requirements with speed and confidence.

Bringing together two of the sector’s most trusted tools, Causeway ParkMap and Causeway one.network, the solution enables local authorities to create, manage, and share TROs in line with the new DfT-mandated digital standard, while maintaining the specialist capabilities their teams rely on.

The D-TRO mandate, introduced under the Automated Vehicles Act 2024, requires all traffic regulation orders to be published in a standardised digital format. Causeway’s integrated offer ensures local authorities can meet these demands now and start unlocking benefits, without compromising the tools and workflows they depend on.

A history of leadership

The launch follows Causeway’s 2024 acquisition of Buchanan Computing – a trusted name in TRO authoring for over 20 years. As part of this transition, Buchanan’s leading products, including ParkMap, are now being brought under the Causeway brand, with updates beginning to roll out that reflect this closer alignment.

With 110 highway authorities already using the Buchanan suite of products, there are now more than 180 authorities across the UK, over 80% of the sector, putting their trust in Causeway solutions and aligned with this vision.
