On Thursday 26 June, from 10 to 11.30am, the ITS UK Active Travel Forum will be holding a webinar focusing on how we solve challenges around data for active travel.
This webinar will focus on some of the opportunities and challenges with an excellent line-up of speakers from Active Travel England, Transport for London, See.Sense and Vivacity.
Increasingly, the active travel industry needs to identify demand for infrastructure, ensuring urban spaces are designed to support sustainable, long-term growth in walking, wheeling and cycling, while protecting vulnerable road users; and evaluate the success of active travel schemes – understanding their real-world impact and informing their return on investment.
Yet, a key challenge with these activities is the lack of high-quality, in-depth data on active travel participation, safety, accessibility, interactions between different types of road users and the impacts of infrastructure design on these factors. How do we ensure we have the right data, at the right quality and have the means to use it to inform decisions?
This session will explore some of these challenges and a number of solutions that are being developed and implemented. Following presentations from our speakers, there will be dedicated time to ask questions and share your thoughts.
