DBT & DfT Smart Data in Transport Workshop

9 June 10:00 - 15:00

Following the publication of the Smart Data Strategy in March, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and Department for Transport (DfT) are exploring how Smart Data in the transport sector  can improve the way transport services are planned, delivered and experienced.

Smart Data is the secure, voluntary sharing of customer data with authorised third parties (ATPs), enabling the development of innovative services that can improve outcomes for individuals and businesses, boost competition, and support more informed decision‑making. Building on the success of the Open Banking Scheme – through which financial data became more accessible, secure, and interoperable for consumers – Government is looking to enable similar Smart Data schemes across other sectors to drive growth and innovation. You can read more about the Government’s plans in the recently published Smart Data Strategy.

This workshop, organised on behalf of DBT and DfT by ITS UK, will gather the industry’s views of where a Smart Data scheme in transport could have the greatest benefit and impact, where a scheme could have the most need and how Government can work with the sector to drive Smart Data forward. The workshop will take place on 9 June from 10.30 to 3pm at the Clayton Hotel in Birmingham. To attend, please register via the link below. Please note, by registering you consent to having your information shared with the DBT and DfT teams organising this event with ITS UK.

An agenda will be shared with attendees ahead of the event.
