Enabling Multi-Modal Journeys: A DfT – ITS UK Joint Workshop

3 June @ 10:30 - 15:00

Open to all

The Integrated National Transport Strategy will be published this year and set the long-term vision for transport in England, focusing on how transport should be designed, built and operated to better serve all people who use it.

The Strategy will focus on the role transport plays in enabling access to opportunities including education and jobs, and support the devolution agenda and the creation of great places by setting out how local leaders will be enabled to deliver good transport that is right for their communities.

Alongside this, the Department for Transport are developing a Data Action Plan which will show how data can enable an integrated transport system. It will set out actions required to ensure transport data can support modal integration and deliver more accessible transport.

Data will play a critical role in achieving this. Often, it’s the journeys across different modes or regions that struggle to provide customers with clear information that helps improve their experience. Creating a more seamless flow across operators will be vital in delivering a truly integrated transport network.

Following a series of external engagement events, the Department for Transport and ITS UK are working together to run a workshop focused on how data can support multi-modal journeys.

The workshop will centre on key case studies developed by DfT and will ask participants to explore how applications of data can help in making the journeys described within the case studies more seamless.

This event is open to all, with DfT and ITS UK welcoming the following:

  • National, regional and local transport authorities
  • Transport operators and suppliers
  • Technology providers and consultancies
  • User groups and representative bodies

This event is open to all – you do not need to be an ITS UK member to attend. We encourage those attending to be ready to input into the workshops over the course of the day. A full agenda and case studies will be shared with delegates ahead of the event.
