To mark the annual INWED day (23 June), our Women in ITS Forum is meeting at WSP in Birmingham on the 21 June.
AGENDA
12.00 – Arrival with light lunch and networking
12.30 – Introduction from ITS UK and Olivia Cairns, WSP and Gemma Tredwell, Arcadis (Chair of Women in ITS Forum)
12.45 – Simon Sheldon – Wilson, Head of Business – Operations and Safety, WSP
Simon will detail his experience of effective safety and wellbeing leadership. From leading roadside assistance operational teams and major change programmes at the RAC, to overseeing that day-to-day operation of the strategic road network with the Highways Agency (and National Highways) Simon has put visible leadership at the heart of his approach by spending time with front-line operational teams in their working environment.
13.15 – Shane Collins, Smart Cities Sector Lead, 4 Way Consulting
Shane will be covering the Edgbaston Terminus. The Edgbaston Terminus is a traffic signal site with LRT facilities. This project provided a sustainable transport solution and there were a number of safety issues that needed to be resolved during the design process.
13.45 – Refreshment break with networking
14.00 – Vivi Michalaki, Head of ITS and Mobility, National Highways
Vivi will be raising the topic of imposter syndrome, how it may affect us all and especially women, in the working environment. This is an opportunity to openly discuss and share personal challenges in this area, where we might experience how our daily work life is affected by feelings of self-doubt, and identify ways to overcome it.
14.30 – Georgette Foster-Bell, Technical Director, Arcadis
Georgette will be providing an overview of decarbonisation at National Highways and how Arcadis has assisted on a Birmingham Highways contract to make our supply chain partners feel safer at work.
