Nominate yourself for a Forum or Group leadership position!

Following an extensive review over 2025, ITS UK is relaunching a new Forum & Group programme this year – and is now opening up opportunities for members to get involved!

Below we set out the critical information about the Forums and Groups going forward.

Forums and Groups

Our Forums and Groups play a central role in shaping ITS UK’s activities, including events, thought leadership, and industry engagement. They form the focus of our organisation, and are the key vehicles through which we drive our activity.

In 2025, we ran an extensive review of our Forums, gathering views from members, the Board and Forum Officers. Following that, we have restructured our activities into two complementary strands: Forums and Groups, each with a distinct purpose and governance model:

  • Forums are subject-matter–focused programmes delivered through five themed events held throughout the year.
  • Groups are action-oriented “delivery committees” aligned to key pillars of ITS UK’s role as the industry association for transport technology.

The new structure

From 2026, we will have five Forums and five Groups.

  • Digital Transport Forum
Covering the use of data and AI in transport, cybersecurity and resilience, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and IoT.
  • Future Roads Forum
Covering connected and automated mobility (CAM), traffic management, DTRO, active travel, and road pricing.
  • Intelligent Mobility Forum
Covering integrated transport and Mobility as a Service (MaaS), smart ticketing, public transport, demand-responsive transport (DRT), micromobility, and journey planning.
  • Logistics, Freight and Maritime Forum
Covering all aspects of the movement of goods, across road, rail, maritime, and intermodal transport.
  • Safety Tech Forum
Covering enforcement technology and safety across the transport system, including public transport.

And we will also run five Groups:

  • Advocacy & Public Affairs Group
Guiding ITS UK’s advocacy, communications, and policy activity, including thought-leadership reports, campaigns, and consultation responses.
  • Early Careers Group
Supporting the development of emerging talent in the sector, including delivery of the ITS UK Essay Competition.
  • International Promotion Group – NEW
Supporting the promotion of the UK ITS industry overseas, including trade missions, delegations, and ITS UK’s presence at international trade shows.
  • Small Business & Start-Up Group – NEW
Representing small and start-up members within ITS UK and externally.
Nominations are limited to members in ITS UK’s Micro and Small Business categories.
  • Women in ITS Group
Supporting gender diversity across the sector, including delivery of events linked to International Women’s Day and International Women in Engineering Day.
