Alex is DfT’s Head of AI and Autonomy and works in the Emerging Technologies team underneath DfT’s Chief Scientific Advisor. Alex leads on the sector wide adoption of AI in transport and has led on the development of DfT’s first ever Transport AI Strategy (due for publication March 2024). Alex brings a wealth of experience from a wide range of science and technology roles in government, including: a review of Defra’s R&D portfolio, overseeing NPL’s climate adaption & resilience research, developing & prioritising AI concepts for Dstl’s Defence AI Centre.
