
Yousef Majeed
Associate Director, Arup
Yousef Majeed is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and accredited Project Manager, with more than 18 years of experience, leading complex ITS and transport schemes across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.
Having joined Arup in 2017, he works as an Associate Director, leading the Intelligent Mobility Team in Birmingham, UK. He is also the UKIMEA Intelligent Mobility Skills leader, where he is tasked with helping shape and develop technical expertise across the UK, India, Middle East and Africa.
Yousef has wide-ranging knowledge and understanding of Intelligent Mobility and ITS, responsible for delivering technical advice and design services on sustainable, low carbon transport solutions. He has a strong track record of successfully leading and delivering transport projects from small advisory contracts to large multi-disciplinary programmes.
His experience in the Aerospace Industry enhanced his expertise in the successful delivery of complex design projects, where he provided leadership and technical delivery on a number of key projects, including the AIRBUS A400M Military Airlifter and A320/A321.
Since joining Arup, Yousef has led and contributed to a wide range of projects in the capacity of Project Director, Technical Lead, Subject Matter Expert and Programme/Project Manager. Some of his key clients include National Highways, Department for Transport and Transport for Greater Manchester, as well as key transport authorities across Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Yousef has been expanding his industry reach and influence by presenting at several key conferences, including Highways UK, New Civil Engineer (NCE), Transport Technology Forum (TTF) and ITS UK. He has continued to build effective networks within Arup and across the industry; and has been pushing thought leadership on emerging initiatives by actively leading and supporting internal and external research papers.
He has successfully completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership in the Roads Sector, and previously received the Associate Laureate at Highways UK, which recognises outstanding achievement in the Highway Sector.
