Multi-Modal Travel for Bedfordshire, Luton & Milton Keynes Region Workshop

You are invited to join a workshop, supported by England’s Economic Heartland, and delivered by Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK), exploring how we can deliver multi-modal travel options for the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK) Region.
About this Workshop
As a critical investment zone for the UK, the BLMK region will need to prepare for two key types of trip: regular local journeys, such as commuting to work, and visitor journeys to attractions across the region, including by national and international visitors to the planned Universal Theme Park.
Today the ticketing offer is inconsistent between local transport authorities, and none of the current schemes offer mobile ticketing or rail-to-bus integration. The only smart card scheme with trip-based payments, MK Move, is not widely promoted and remains relatively low in financial value.
This workshop seeks to explore how the region can support multi-modal travel for these two, distinct customers, encouraging visitors and commuters to use public transport in a seamless, safe and efficient way.
This is a hands-on working session rather than a briefing, and we have invited you because your expertise will help us fill key knowledge gaps and shape a viable ticketing proposition for BLMK.
Attendees
The workshop will be made up from a selection of representatives from local authorities, the Department for Transport and supply chain.
Please note: Attendance is limited to one place per member (in person). Online attendees will be able to hear presentations but not be able to participate in the workshop.
