Big ITS Conversation attracts over 100 attendees

Intelligent Transport Systems UK’s Big ITS Conversation was held on Tuesday 4 April and saw over 100 people join from across the sector.

The event provided an innovative way for companies to meet with local and national transport authorities for two hours of short, informal conversations. Supported by sponsors Atkins and partners LCRIG, the event used innovative technology platform Remo for attendees to join a number of virtual ‘tables’ hosted by local authorities, sub national transport bodies and national transport authorities.

Each public sector table host provided a short ‘challenge statement’, listing in broad terms the challenges they are facing that intelligent transport could help resolve. This supported an informed and focused discussion between the companies who joined and those looking for ITS solutions.

Prof Sarah Sharples, the Department for Transport’s Chief Scientific Advisor joined to give a keynote speech, presenting on the Department’s priorities for science and innovation.

Organisations who hosted a table included National Highways, Innovate UK KTN, Glasgow City Council, Hertfordshire County Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Transport for the West Midlands, Transport Scotland, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, Dorset Council and Connected Places Catapult.
