Partnership with the UK Government’s Fuel Finder helps motorists find the best-value petrol and diesel nearby

Google has launched fuel prices on Google Maps and Waze in the UK, giving motorists a real-time view of petrol and diesel costs at nearby stations as the cost of living continues to rise.

The feature was developed in partnership with the UK Government and the UK Waze community. It draws on the Government’s Fuel Finder data so drivers can compare prices before they set off, instead of guessing or defaulting to the nearest forecourt.

In a blog launching the initiative, Sarah-Jayne Williams, Global Product Partnerships Director at Google Maps & Waze said, “As the cost of living continues to rise, managing expenses has never been more critical. That’s why we’re launching fuel prices in the UK on Google Maps and Waze, making everyday journeys simpler and more affordable by showing drivers where best to buy their fuel.”

The new feature lets drivers:

  • Find fuel quickly: Searching for “petrol” or “fuel” in Google Maps or Waze brings up the latest prices at nearby stations.
  • Compare prices at a glance: Petrol and diesel prices appear directly on the map, making it easy to spot the best deal.
  • See every fuel type in one place: Prices for all fuels offered at a station are shown together.

Fuel prices are available now on Google Maps and Waze across the UK.
