Join Bus Networks Basics Webinar with Padam Mobility

Padam Mobility

A new webinar focusing on the future of integrated transport and bus network design is set to take place later this month, following the UK government’s renewed emphasis on connectivity.

The event comes in the wake of the Department for Transport’s recently published strategy, “Better Connected,” which outlines plans for a more coordinated national transport system. The strategy builds on measures introduced in the Buses Act, including requirements for local authorities to identify and safeguard socially necessary bus services.

Scheduled for 30 April 2026 at 3pm BST, the online session will bring together industry experts to examine how transport networks can better serve communities. The discussion will focus on defining meaningful service standards, identifying underserved areas, and designing solutions to address gaps in existing bus networks.

Topics set to be covered include minimum expectations for bus frequency and network density, approaches to maintaining socially necessary services, and strategies for improving connectivity in areas that currently lack adequate provision.

The webinar will be chaired by Stephen Joseph, a transport policy advisor and professor at the Smart Mobility Research Unit at the University of Hertfordshire. Confirmed speakers include Beate Kubitz, Director at Beate Kubitz Associates Ltd; Silviya Barrett, Director of Policy and Research at Campaign for Better Transport; Devon Barrett, Co-founder of Podaris; and Max McDonald of Padam Mobility.

The session will be held via Zoom, with registration open to interested participants.
