Peter Lowe of RTA Associates has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Parking in Wales at the British Parking Association Wales Parking & Transport Live in Wrexham, Wales.

The BPA’s annual Expo in Wales on 17 June 2026 proved highly successful, leaving delegates with fresh insights, renewed energy, and a shared commitment to improving parking and transport across Wales. The event closed with reflections from Chair Peter Lowe, who drew together key themes of partnership, innovation, and progress.

His long standing contribution to the sector was recognised with an Outstanding Contribution to Parking in Wales Award, celebrating his leadership, lifetime of influence and lasting impact across Wales. Brilliant recognition of everything he has done for the sector, including his time as a BPA Past President and his ongoing work as BPA Chair of Parking & Transport Wales since 2009.

Peter has been the MD of RTA Associates Ltd since October 2010. RTA Associates Ltd is a well-respected private company specialising in consultancy advice and DTRO work for the parking industry. He worked at Salford Council for 18 years, leaving in April 2001 as a Group Engineer in Traffic & Transportation to work for RTAA.

Peter has been actively involved in the BPA since 2009, and he is proud of the huge amount of progress made by the Wales group since its inception 14 years ago. The position of Chair of Wales BPA permits him to be in positions on task force groups for the Welsh Government, and he has been on the WG Pavement Parking group for three years since its inception.
